We wildly test various products suitable for making coffee, so several HiBREW products landed on our test table. One of the nicest of these was the Hibew H10B coffee maker with a pressure display, which not only coffee lovers can enjoy, but also milk drinkers.
HiBREW H10B espresso coffee machine test - Isn't the coffee machine the most important thing?
We are in the midst of writing our mind-expanding material about coffee grinders and coffee makers, but I will spoil so much in advance that in the process of making coffee, the coffee grinder is a more important link than the coffee maker. Of course, every step must be at least satisfactory for the end product to be of the right quality. Contrary to the term coffee maker, coffee is made and not brewed, since then we would have to pass boiling water - i.e. 100 degrees Celsius - through the coffee cake with high pressure, but instead the truth is more like 92 degrees Celsius.Another important parameter is pressure, which is also not 20 bar - this is the nominal power of the pump - contrary to what the manufacturers write on the box as data, but somewhere between 9-15 bar, depending on the tightness of the coffee cake. We covered it up with this two of the key data of coffee making - temperature and pressure -, the latter of which you can monitor on the front of the Hibew H10B, and the former on a small display on the top. This is not trivial at all, as most cheap coffee machines do not show them.
It is important that the above applies to the preparation of espresso coffee, as there are countless other forms - filter, French press, knocker, etc. - black juice could be produced
The other thing to highlight is that they add 3 51 mm filter baskets.
Two will be trivial, since you can brew 1 and 2 servings of espresso, which take 9 and 18 grams of coffee, but then what good is the third holder? To understand this, we need to delve a little into the secrets of coffee making.
Espresso coffee machines, such as the HiBREW H10B, work by directing hot, but not scalding, water at high pressure through the coffee cake, where the latter acts as a natural valve.
The size of the coffee grains, the homogeneity, the power of tampering and a few other things determine how well the coffee cake "resists" water. If it is better, more pressure is needed to prepare it, if less, then the water just flows through the material at a lower pressure value. In this case, the release of flavors and aromas can be related to the measurement of the pressure value.
So that there are no problems with this, in the case of traditional espresso machines, a so-called pressurized basket is used,
translated into Hungarian, this is a coffee basket with a pressure booster, which, as the name suggests, increases the pressure. Since the HiBREW H10B has a pressure gauge, so the company lets you play with this value, so you get a third non-pressurized coffee basket. Which is which? The pressure booster is the one that has less or only one hole at the bottom, which is why the pressure rises, because the liquid is diverted to one place.

I didn't come across anything else interesting, so let's look at the controls. The HiBREW H10B coffee maker is not a devil's lock, there is a rotary knob on the side next to the steam pipe that can be used to switch between hot water and steaming. This too traditional thermo block device, which heats up quickly, but doesn't keep the temperature even, and it doesn't have a boiler in which the steam accumulates, you can tell by the fact that the steam pipe "spits", so it's not the best for milky drinks, but it's a satisfactory solution.
On the top of the HiBREW H10 B, there are 4 buttons and a display, one of which is responsible for turning it on and off, two can be used to set the temperature, the length of the brew, and one or two portions, while the last one starts the steam generation. And let's stop here for a bit the display shows not only the temperature values, but also the time of the liquid flow, so this is already the third data for fine-tuning coffee production. Moreover, you can adjust the amount of liquid. Summarizing the above, the HiBREW H10B coffee machine shows:
- a pressure value on the front
- a temperature and
- az length of completion (brew timer, this is also measured with a coffee scale).
Added to this is the use of a pressurized/unpressurized portafilter. These are key data, and it is worth playing with them to see who can make the best coffee. Basically, this will be important for those who like to intervene in the process and, for example, like to try things like harder or looser coffee cake tampering and the like. This is a real niche topic, but I really appreciated its formality. For those who don't like all of this, there is a capsule coffee maker that can be used to complete the entire process at the push of a button.

Hi, can I check with you what type of heating element (aluminum or stainless steel, coil or thermo block) do the H11 and H10B use? Thanks
